Phil Lane

Vice President & General Manager, KSAT - San Antonio

Phil Lane was named Vice President & General Manager of KSAT12, the locally dominant ABC affiliate in San Antonio, in July 2011.

While at KSAT12, Lane launched "SA Live" and instantly made it the number one local daytime lifestyle show in the market.  He also created "KSAT COMMUNITY", a media initiative that spotlights and celebrates more than a dozen local non-profit organizations every year.  In 2014 Lane oversaw the construction of the state-of-the-art media complex that houses KSAT12,, and "SA Live."

Lane is extremely active in the San Antonio community, serving as a board member of Child Safe, a local organization which works with children traumatized by abuse and neglect.  Lane volunteers his time at several community events, such as "SA Rodeo", and "San Antonio Shred Days". He is also a board member of the local PBS affiliate KLRN.

Prior to joining Graham Media Group, Lane served from 2004-2011 as Vice President and General Manager of WSPA-TV, the local CBS affiliate and WYCW-TV, the CW affiliate in the Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville/Anderson television market.  He was very involved in the local community, serving on the "Spartanburg Boy's and Girl's Club" Board and the "Spartanburg Children's Shelter" Board.  He also served on the CBS Affiliates Association Board.   Prior to leading WSPA-TV, Lane was Vice President and General Manager of WJBF-TV, the ABC affiliate in Augusta, Georgia (from 2000 to 2004), and WRBL-TV, the CBS affiliate in Columbus, Georgia (from 1997 to 2000).  Prior to becoming a General Manager, Lane worked as a General Sales Manager at WRBL-TV, National Sales Manager of WSPA-TV, and had prior stints as sales account executive with Blair Television, WSPA-TV and WPDE-TV, the ABC affiliate in the Florence/Myrtle Beach market.


Lane is a graduate of Furman University with a BA in History.
