Sean McLaughlin

Vice President / General Manager – KPRC Houston & News Strategy, Graham Media Group

Sean McLaughlin was named Vice President / General Manager of KPRC Houston and Vice President of News Strategy for Graham Media Group in July 2025. In this expanded role, McLaughlin leads one of the nation's top local television stations while continuing to drive GMG's companywide news vision.

McLaughlin brings more than two decades of experience shaping innovative news strategies across broadcast, digital, streaming, and social platforms. Since joining Graham Media Group as Vice President of News in April 2024, he has been instrumental in reimagining the company's approach to local journalism, always with a focus on audiences, communities, and evolving media habits.

Before joining GMG, McLaughlin served as Senior Vice President of Local News at The E.W. Scripps Company, overseeing news operations across 41 markets. His leadership at Scripps emphasized a strong commitment to localized journalism and data-drive content strategies. He previously held senior news and creative leadership roles at KMOV-TV in St. Louis and began his career as a news director in Tulsa.

As VP/General Manager at KPRC, McLaughlin works hands-on with Houston's award-winning team to build one of the most innovative local media operations in the country. In his dual role, he continues to spearhead GMG's transformation of news gathering, storytelling, and distribution models—ensuring the company remains at the forefront of an evolving industry while honoring the essential role of journalism in the communities it serves.
